2024年8月12日から25日にかけて、近畿大学の学生4名が逢甲大学と合同で開催されたAA Visiting School台湾「Urbanity from the Ocean: Invisible Cities」に参加し、私もゲストチューターとして参加した。このワークショップは、Architectural Association School of Architecture(AAスクール)が主催し、学生が現地の文化や自然環境を探求し、建築的視点から地域を理解するための貴重な学びの場となった。参加者は、AAスクールの講師、文化人類学 者、映像作家から指導を受け、台湾東海岸をフィールドワークし、その風景や文化、社会的背景を建築的に捉えた3分間の映像作品を制作し た。この過程を通じて、学生たちは現地の環境を多面的に理解し、建築デザインの新たな表現手法を学んだ。【Ryotaro Urai | 浦井亮太郎 | 建築・まちづくり】 project.4 FOODHALL koya Previous Next Food hall "eka" that conveys the charm of Koya's traditional crafts Space design / 2021 / KOYASAN Koyasan has given birth to numerous ideas over the 1,200 years since its founding. Here, there is a culture of religion and lifestyle nurtured by monks and people who support each other. However, due to the progress of aging and depopulation, there is a shortage of people who inherit Buddhism and the traditional crafts that support it. I want to protect the living culture that has been handed down from generation to generation by "craftsmen who do exquisite handwork", which has become a rare existence. プログラムの主題と目的 ワークショップのテーマである「海からの都市性:見えない都市」は、都市と海との関係性に着目し、移動と定住の境界が形成する都市空 間を探ることを目的としていた。特に、台湾東海岸の風光明媚な景観の背後に隠された歴史的な対立や社会的な矛盾に注目し、それらを建築的な視点で分析し、表現することが中心課題であった。台湾東海岸は、太平洋に面し、高い山々と豊かな自然環境に囲まれている一方で、 軍事基地やデータセンターといった現代的なインフラも存在している。このように複雑な地政 学的背景を持つ地域特性を学生たちがどのように解釈し、映像として表現するかが、本ワークショップの大きな挑戦であった。 プログラムの進行と活動内容 ワークショップは、参加者によるフィールドワークとグループ作業を軸に進行した。8月12日に宜蘭市に集合し、蘭陽博物館や頭城海底ケーブル基地などを訪問した。学生たちは、それぞれの場所で観察を行い、地域の特性や歴史的背景を学んだ。 8月13日から15日には、南方澳漁港 や宜蘭伝統工芸センターなど、地域の生活文化や産業に焦点を当てた見学を行い、現地の専門家によるレクチャーを受けることで、地域理解を深めた。 また、各日の夕方から深夜にかけてはグループディスカッションを行い、フィールド ワークで得た情報をもとに、映像制作に向けた アイデアを共有し、編集作業を進めた。 8月16日には新城郷に移動し、文化商業施設「山海百貨」にて中間講評が行われ、映像作品を発表し、講師陣からフィードバックを受けた。 さらに、8月16日から8月17日までは新城郷で、8月18日から21日には花蓮市でフィールドワークを行い、学生たちは自由に調査を進め、 撮影した映像をグループごとにまとめた。 花蓮市では日本移民村や馬太鞍湿地、光復砂糖工場などの訪問を通じて、学生たちは地域の歴史や環境を観察し、それを映像として表現した。 そして、8月22日には花蓮市内のRe:baseにて最終講評が行われ、各グループが制作した映像作品を発表した。その後、8月24日には花蓮文創園区にて作品展が開かれ、一般来場者にも公開された。 LINK Urbanity from the Ocean – Taiwan 逢甲建築專業學院與英國建築學校合辦跨國建築研究與設計工作坊「海洋城市學工作營」 Previous Next
- PLACEMAKING IN ISHIKIRI | Kindai Univ. Architectural Planning Lab. | RYOTARO URAI
石切参道商店街にあるクリエイティブ拠点「ひらくきち」において、テンポラリーアーキテクチャーを活用したプレイスメイキングの実践を通じ、その効果を検証しました。プレイスメイキングは、地域コミュニティを基盤に公共空間を再設計し、利用者にとって「居場所」と感じられる空間を創出する手法です。「ひらくきち」では、1回目の「一体型」設置と2回目の「分離型」設置を行い、利用者の動線や滞在時間の変化を観察しました。「分離型」設置では回遊性が向上し、地域住民や子育て世代の利用が増加しました。また、仮設建築が利用者の自由な発想を促し、心理的負担を軽減する効果も確認されました。一方で、利用方法が明確でないと使いづらさを感じる課題も明らかになりました。本研究活動は、テンポラリーアーキテクチャーが公共空間の新たな可能性を拓き、地域住民の主体的な関与を促進する有効な手段であることを示し、より自由度と柔軟性のあるデザインの重要性を提言しています。【Ryotaro Urai | 浦井亮太郎 | 建築・まちづくり】 project.4 FOODHALL koya Previous Next Food hall "eka" that conveys the charm of Koya's traditional crafts Space design / 2021 / KOYASAN Koyasan has given birth to numerous ideas over the 1,200 years since its founding. Specifically, the goal is to set up a “manufacturing studio” where children and craftsmen can foster their creativity together, and to create a foundation for new businesses and indigenous entrepreneurs centered on them. プレイスメイキングの実践内容 2025年3月~5月にかけて、ホトリヲや周辺エリアで開催された以下の取り組みにクミカグを活用した。 1回目の実践(空きビル活用実験イベント) グランドオープン前の試行的イベント「でも、デモ オープニングイベント」において、クミカグを5ユニット連結し蛇行状に配置した。屋内外に跨るレイアウトとし、座面となる三角形板、スリット入り板、幅広板など用途に応じた4種類の板材を設計・製作した。全パーツは分解・収納が可能で自動車で運搬できるサイズとし、イベント当日に短時間で組立設置を行った。この構成により、書店、展示、飲食、ワークショップといった異なる活動が連続的に並びつつも領域が自然に重なり合い、一体的な空間が生まれた。実際に、展示物を見に来た来場者がそのまま隣のカフェスペースで飲食を楽しむ光景や、書店エリアの本を手に別の席で閲覧するといった行動が見られ、各機能間の垣根が曖昧になった。 2回目の実践(水辺空間での社会実験イベント) 大阪市主催の水辺利活用社会実験「東横堀川リバーテラス2025春」に合わせ、建築計画研究室が書店として出展参加した。「ホトリヲ」内にクミカグを設置し、本とポストカードと植物を販売する簡易キオスクとして機能させた。クミカグは短時間で組立・撤去が可能なため、期間限定イベントにおいても有効に機能した。 LINK: 「東横堀川リバーテラス2025春」水辺の新たな利活用実験を開催します(大阪市) 3回目の実践(日常空間での可変的活用) ホトリヲの実店舗営業開始後も、場の管理者がクミカグを創意工夫して活用した。例えば5月には、革製品店による対面販売ブースとしてクミカグを再構成し、また夜間のバータイムには店内外を緩やかにつなぐスタンディングテーブルとして設置した。このようにイベント内容や時間帯に応じて什器を組み替えることで、空間に常に新しい使い方を生み出している。利用者自身が能動的に場を作り変えるプロセスを促す点で、クミカグは単なる家具ではなく「場を育てるプラットフォーム」として機能していると言える。 プレイスメイキングの効果/考察 東横堀川の事例では、クミカグの可変性が狭小な空間に多機能な場を内包させ、活動間の境界を融解させる効果をもたらした。特にオープニングイベントでは、複数店舗・用途が一続きのレイアウトで互いに誘客し合い、空間全体の一体感と賑わい創出に寄与した。ユーザーからは「区切られていないので自由に回遊できる」「思わぬ出会いがあって面白い」といった反応が得られ、境界を曖昧にした設えが新たな交流を生む可能性が示唆された。 また日常利用においても、経営者自らが什器のレイアウトを変えることで空間演出を行っており、時間帯や季節に応じてフレキシブルに場を調整できる利点が確認できた。これは利用者=場の主が主体的に関われる余地をデザインに組み込む重要性を示している。一方、自由度が高いがゆえに初期設置時には最適配置を模索する手間も見られた。今後、利用目的に応じたモジュール形状の提案パターンや、設営マニュアルの整備によって、より円滑にユーザー主体の場づくりを支援できると考えられる。 Previous Next

Specifically, the goal is to set up a “manufacturing studio” where children and craftsmen can foster their creativity together, and to create a foundation for new businesses and indigenous entrepreneurs centered on them. 教員の適応行動と運用上の課題 社会科教員は狭い教科教室を補うためオープンスペースを積極的に活用し、生徒同士の学び合いを促進していたが、個別フォローが困難という悩みも抱えていた。一方で、数学科教員は集中しやすい環境を確保するため教科教室の扉を常時閉めた授業を行っており、「メディアコーナーをどう活用すれば良いのかよく分からない」と述べた。英語科教員は、教科の専用教室ができたことで、教材の置きっ放しや掲示が容易になり、授業準備の効率が向上したと評価しているが、隣接する音楽室からの音で、生徒の集中が阻害されると課題を抱えていた。 施設運用の面では、小学校との特別教室(理科室・体育館・音楽室など)の共用が時間割調整上の大きな悩みとなっている。 特に、理科や音楽のようにホームベースでの実施が困難な授業においては、調整に多大な労力を要しているという。 校長もまた、設計段階でのワークショップで求められた空間と、現場の「使いやすさ」との間にギャップがあることに問題意識を持っている。 生徒の適応行動 生徒の行動にも一定の変化が見られた。休み時間の行動観察およびアンケート結果からは、「まんなかライブラリー」が居場所として好まれていることがわかった。特にYogiboに多くの生徒が集まる傾向があり、くつろぎや遊びの場として機能している。ただし、10分間休憩は多くの生徒がホームベースに留まる傾向も見られ、冬季においては寒いため教科教室に閉じこもる様子も見られた。中学生と小学生との交流については、おんぶをして遊ぶといった場面も観察されたが、小学校エリアは可動式什器を使ってテリトリーを区切っているため行き来しづらい状況になっており、交流は限られている。 考察と今後の展望 教科教室制の導入やオープンスペースの配置は、生徒の自律的な学びや協働的な活動を促進することを意図していたが、現実には「時間割調整の難しさ」「音の干渉」「収納不足」「小中学校の交流の難しさ」などの課題が浮上したことにより、設計者の意図と現場の運用にギャップが生じていることが明らかになった。今後は、設計者・運営者・教員と協力して設計者と利用者のズレを解消していくことが求められる。 Therefore, we will use a part of the Koyasan University building, which is biased toward single-function services and is a space separated from the townscape, to create a space where craftsmen who are involved in the inheritance of traditional crafts, food, and forestry will be responsible for the future of the region. Specifically, the goal is to set up a “manufacturing studio” where children and craftsmen can foster their creativity together, and to create a foundation for new businesses and indigenous entrepreneurs centered on them. 使われない空間から「自分たちの居場所」へ 新校舎の完成から約1年、一部の家具や空間が十分に活用されていないという課題が浮上しました 。この状況に対し、建物の設計を手がけた安井建築設計事務所が、竣工後も施設に関わり続けるという新しいアプローチを提案。利用者である生徒自身が主体となり、空間をより良く変えていくためのワークショップを建築計画研究室と共同で企画しました。 ワークショップのテーマは「学校に自分たちで考えたスペースをつくってみよう!!」。使われていないモノを、使われていない場所に置き、生徒が自分たちの居場所を作るという内容です 。 この活動の主役は、小学5年生から中学2年生の生徒たちで、自分たちが作った空間を卒業まで使い続ける「当事者」として、プロジェクトへの主体的な関与が期待される学年を選びました。生徒たちは、使われていなかった家具を自由に使い、校内の未利用空間を、読書や交流が生まれる新しい学びの場へと変えていきます。 生徒が主役のプロセス ワークショップは、生徒がデザインのプロセスを体験的に学べるよう、3つのステップで構成しています。このプロセスを通じて、生徒は単なる空間の「利用者」から、自らの手で環境を創造する「作り手」へと成長することが期待されます。 STEP1 アイデア出し :設計者から建物のコンセプトを聞いた後、チームに分かれて改善したい場所を選び、「どんな場所にしたいか」というコンセプトを話し合います。 STEP2 試作 :考えたアイデアを元に、実際に家具、本などを配置。アイデアを物理的に形にしながら、より良い空間のあり方を試行錯誤します。 STEP3 評価 :各チームの取り組みを振り返り、どのアイデアが最も優れているかを、生徒と教員の投票によって決定します。 説明会(2025.9.12) 説明会では、設計者から「みんなでつくる学びの杜」という設計理念が紹介され、施設が「開く」「交わる」などといったテーマを軸に計画されたことが説明されました。児童・生徒は、建物の意図や空間構成を理解することで、これから自分たちが関わるプロジェクトの背景を学びました。 第1回ワークショップ(2025.10.14) 第1回ワークショップでは、参加者の小学生2名を対象に「好きな場所」「あまり好きでない場所」について意見交換を行い、児童が日常的にどのように学校空間を感じているかを探りました。「にぎやかな学校にしたい」「第階段の黒板にチョークがあれば使いたい」などの声があがり、学校内の観察を通じて普段使われていない場所への関心も高まりました。意見整理の結果、「書くこと」を中心とした空間改善の方向性が見えてきました。ロータリーのコンクリート壁面や地面などに自由に絵やメッセージを描くことで、創造性と学びがつながる場をつくる構想が生まれました。 今後の展開 10月下旬から12月にかけて、第2回〜第4回のワークショップが予定されており、アイデアの具体化、デザイン案の検討、実装へと進む予定です。 Previous Next

In the action part, at a municipal junior high school in Koya-cho, Wakayama Prefecture, where Koyasan Kongobu-ji Temple is located, in collaboration with teachers, we are working on the planning and implementation of "town development learning" that is assumed to be learned in the three years of junior high school. . In the research part, along with analyzing the process of planning and implementing community development learning, we conducted a questionnaire survey of students after classes were held and interviews with teachers and local residents to find out about the learning programs and implementation methods of each year. We are considering it from a comparison of reactions of local residents. As a result, the ideal program for the implementation of community development learning and its issues were sorted out. Implementation process of hometown learning Koya-cho has a world heritage site and is famous as a tourist destination. Under these circumstances, Koyasan Junior High School, the only junior high school in Koya Town, has been working on "hometown learning" during the comprehensive study period with the aim of establishing love for the hometown. From 2020, town development learning was introduced as part of this “hometown learning”. In the first year, it will be implemented as a proposal-oriented program in which the results of learning are compiled and presented over the course of the year, and in the 2021 academic year, the learning process will include opportunities for regional cooperation through interaction and collaboration between students and local stakeholders. , It was implemented as a grade-by-grade program, assuming continuous learning of community development throughout the three years of junior high school. In the 2022 academic year, it was implemented as a program of inter-grade collaboration projects, assuming that all grades of junior high school will jointly form multiple project teams and be continuously involved in community development activities. Hometown learning plan contents The 2022 “Furusato Learning” is divided into three sub-themes set by the students themselves, which the authors have set as the theme “Let’s propose a future town that makes use of the people, industries, and space of Koya Town.” It was planned as a content to discuss "What do you want to do with the town of Koyasan?" The classes will be the same as in 2021: Step 1: Examining research themes (3 hours), Step 2: Fieldwork (14 hours), Step 3: Planning the future of the town (17 hours), Step 4: Intermediate planning for the future Divided into 4 steps of presentation and exchange of opinions (4 hours), it was planned to be carried out for a total of 20 times and 38 hours. It was decided that the work in Step 2 would be done by grade, and the work in Steps 1, 3, and 4 would be done in collaboration with different grades. Step 1: Examination of research themes After 30 students worked on creating a mind map, they followed the procedure of sharing their thoughts on the attractions and issues of Koyasan on a monitor. After that, they were divided into six groups and examined research themes for proposing the future of the town that makes use of the people, industries, and space of Koya Town. Step2: Fieldwork In order to understand the "attractiveness and issues of Koyasan" and "what we want for the future" by local residents, the students held 12 classes for about 100 minutes (breakdown: 1 class jointly for all first-year students, 5 times for 1st-year students, 4 times for 2nd-year students, 1 I worked on fieldwork for 2 years). The final product was exhibited at the Koya Town Tourist Information Center for about three months. Artifacts of hometown learning Through interview surveys with local residents, etc., they became aware of the issues related to the succession of traditional industries, the trend of tourists, and the utilization of historical spatial resources that are not being used effectively. In Step 1, in the process of examining research themes, the students were interested in three points: ``characteristics and current status of Koyasan's traditional industries,'' ``planning methods for town development ideas unique to Koyasan,'' and ``methods for promoting town development activities.'' At that time, the author, who was consulted, decided to plan and implement the town planning study together with Teacher A. Plan contents of hometown study In response to Koya-cho's efforts to create a walkable town environment, the authors set the theme, "Let's propose what we want Koya-cho to look like 15 years from now." Specifically, we ask questions such as, "How do we want to use the attractive public spaces that dot Koyasan?" The students will think about "" and present the contents of "Future Urban Space of Koyasan". In addition, the sub-theme was set to create a town where local residents and tourists can enjoy walking by connecting tourist attractions with the focus on ``little-known attractive spots'' instead of famous tourist spots. Outcomes of hometown learning All the first-year students made a proposal about the idea of a base for walking around the city connecting sightseeing spots, which was a theme set by the author in advance, and compiled it into a three-minute video using illustrations.
